Whoa…it’s that time of year again! Open Studios! Yay! Time to cruise the scenic back roads of Nevada County, take in the fall colors and visit artists where they work. It’s my favorite time of year (buh-bye summer heat!) and my favorite show (well hello friends old and new!). As shows go, I liken it to an extended party at my place.
How to find me at Open Studios
I’m Studio #48, right around the corner from Liz Collins (# 49) and over the ridge from Eileen Blodgett (51).We’re just a few minutes drive from one another so you can easily visit all three of us while you’re out and about. You can find us all in the digital directory here. Hard copies are available at various locations around town including Art Works Gallery, 113 Mill Street in downtown Grass Valley. And while you’re at the gallery, check out the many paintings my friends and I have there.
I have lots of goodies for you at Open Studios
Art. Lotsa art. New paintings, old paintings, prints and, new this year, clay–something I decided to learn because why not–a girl can’t have too many irons in the fire, right? Mostly masks but a few figures and critters to round out the selection.
I’ll be doing demos every day at 11 and 2 –Saturdays Oil & Cold Wax, Sundays Mixed Media Collage. So you might want to be there for that. If you like what you see you can sign up for one of my workshops.
Did I mention chocolate? There’s always chocolate. Did I say always? I mean ALWAYS. And this year we have a bumper crop of apples so do help yourself from the basket.
Moving on
Oh, this is the sad part. Screw the SEO and cue the violins–this will be the last time I participate in Open Studios (insert sad face emoji). It turns out that Mr. Spouse has one more house left in him to build and I’ve been hankering to get back to my saltwater roots. We thought long and hard about it before buying land in Port Angeles WA. Wait! Wut??? You’re leaving?
With a view like that, how could I say no?
So please, come by and say hi during Open Studios. I’m looking forward to seeing you again. Or meeting you for the first time. And if you’re not following me on social media, the links are below in the footer.
